Welcome to my blog! I hope that you find it useful and enjoy browsing it as much as I enjoy creating it. It combines many of my passions including saving money, getting the best bargain, meal planning, gift giving and living a budget savvy life.
Living a budget savvy lifestyle to me means prioritizing the things that are important in your budget and being frugal with the rest. To my family, that means that we drive used cars (and only have one car payment at a time) and live in a house that cost less than half what our mortgage company says we can afford on paper. We do this because we want to have enough money left over for what we hold nearest and dearest to our hearts…travel. Our goal is to get our boys to all contiguous 48 states by adulthood (we are more than halfway there!). Once we are done road tripping our way across the country, we would like to start visiting other countries.
I love finding a bargain and knowing that I have found the best deal on something I want or need to buy. I think that was ingrained in me by my mom who raised 5 kids on one salary. She was an epic coupon clipper and could stretch a dollar like nobody’s business. She use to save all our food boxes after we consumed the product. She would fold them down and store them in our basement so that she would have the UPCs she needed when rebates became available for that product. She was a Money Saving Goddess who loved a sale and saving money as much as I do!
I am a wife and proud homeschooling mom to two boys. I also have six fur babies….three ferrets and three guinea pigs. Besides blogging, traveling, and cooking for my family, I also love reading, playing board games and having movie nights with the family! And I am obsessed with all things Disney 🙂
