The weather is starting to feel more fall-like here in Kansas City so our meal plans are move more and more toward comfort foods 🙂 We like to have more casseroles, soups/chili/stews, and slow cooker meals in these cooler months. What are your family’s favorite fall and winter meals?
Breakfast Options:
- Oatmeal with frozen blueberries and almond milk
- Toast/fruit/tea
- Breakfast burritos (eggs, cheese, sausage, hot sauce on flour tortillas) with a side of fruit
- Fruit options: bananas, clementines
Lunch Options:
- Sandwiches w/ham or turkey and cheese on whole wheat bread w/ pretzels and a side or two of fruit and veggies
- Chicken nuggets with fruit and veggies
- Ramen (my youngest son’s favorite lunch!)
- Leftovers
- Fruit options: clementines, bananas, pears, applesauce
- Veggie options: grape tomatoes, baby carrots, cucumber slices
Dinners:
- Tamale Casserole, Fresh Fruit
- Grilled Chicken Breasts with BBQ Sauce, Baked Potatoes, Tossed Salad, Fresh Fruit
- Chicken Cordon Bleus (in Aldi’s freezer section for $0.99 each!), Crinkle Fries, Corn, Fresh Fruit
- Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff, Egg Noodles, Steamed Green Beans, Fruit
- Meximelts, Rice, Fruit
- Freezer Pizzas, Tossed Salad, Fruit
- Leftovers or Eat Out
- Fruit Options for Dinner (I wash and cut up the following at the beginning of the week and we make mixed fruit cups from them to go with multiple dinners during the week): kiwi fruit, pineapple, cantaloupe, red seedless grapes
